The Masahiro Maruyama MM-0053 col. 2 Havana / Brown is a unisex optical frame from the MONOCLE collection, a project in which the Japanese designer reinterprets the enigmatic elegance of the monocle through a contemporary lens. The idea behind the collection is to connect the past and present, transforming a classic reference into an intentionally asymmetrical frame consistent with the brand's "Unfinished Art" concept.

The front features two large round shapes, but the construction deliberately avoids perfect symmetry. Some sections of the profile appear to be interrupted, leaving parts of the lens seemingly suspended; furthermore, the combination of Havana acetate elements and a Brown metal structure creates different visual levels. The result evokes the idea of a monocle without literally reproducing it, giving the glasses a look that is both classic and experimental.

The official No. 2 Havana / Brown colorway is particularly well-suited to this model: the warm shades of Havana, from dark brown to amber, interact with the brown metal and soften the strong personality of the construction. The front combines acetate and pure titanium, while the temples are crafted from β-titanium and acetate. The frame is made in Japan.
