Il Masahiro Maruyama MM-0053 col. 2 Havana / Brown è un occhiale da vista unisex appartenente alla collezione MONOCLE, progetto nel quale il designer giapponese rilegge l’eleganza enigmatica del monocolo attraverso un linguaggio contemporaneo. L’idea della collezione è mettere in relazione passato e presente, trasformando un riferimento classico in una montatura volutamente asimmetrica e coerente con il concetto di “Unfinished Art” del brand.

Il frontale presenta due grandi forme rotonde, ma la costruzione evita deliberatamente la perfetta simmetria. Alcune sezioni del profilo sembrano interrompersi, lasciando parti della lente apparentemente sospese; la combinazione tra elementi in acetato Havana e struttura metallica Brown crea inoltre differenti livelli visivi. Il risultato richiama l’idea del monocolo senza riprodurlo letteralmente, dando all’occhiale un aspetto classico e sperimentale allo stesso tempo.

La colorazione ufficiale No. 2 Havana / Brown è particolarmente adatta a questo modello: le sfumature calde dell’Havana, dal marrone scuro all’ambra, dialogano con il metallo bruno e rendono più morbida la forte personalità della costruzione. Il frontale combina acetato e titanio puro, mentre le aste sono realizzate in β-titanio e acetato. La montatura è prodotta in Giappone.
