Description

The Masahiro Maruyama MM-0081 col. 1 Matte Black / Black is a unisex optical frame from the BROKEN collection, developed from the idea that an object, once broken and rebuilt, acquires a new identity. The irregularities generated by the "breakage" thus become an integral part of the design, following the "Unfinished Art" concept that characterizes Masahiro Maruyama's work.

The front features a generous, square shape, made more dynamic by an unusual double-bridge construction. The structure does not follow perfectly regular lines: small protruding elements, interruptions, and connection points are intentionally left visible, creating the impression that different fragments have been assembled to give rise to a new frame. The Matte Black / Black finish emphasizes the complexity of the shapes while maintaining a rigorous, monochromatic aesthetic.

The construction combines acetate and pure titanium in the front, while the temples are made of β-titanium and acetate. A particularly distinctive feature is the long upper line that crosses the front, visually connecting the two lenses: together with the small, seemingly "detached" metal elements, it accentuates the architectural and three-dimensional character of the eyewear.

The dimensions are 48-22-145 mm and the model is Made in Japan. The Masahiro Maruyama MM-0081 Matte Black is one of the most structured interpretations of the BROKEN collection: total black, double bridge, overlapping materials, and fragmented geometries transform a square shape into sophisticated and decidedly contemporary eyewear.
